The contract involved providing technical assistance to the Water Research Centre Limited (WRc) in assessing the implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) in Norway. This included supporting the development of the assessment methodology and preparing the technical report according to a methodology, which needed to be agreed upon with Norway. This technical report is used by Norway as a basis for preparing reports on the implementation of the Directives. This formed an initial basis for further analyses to support reviewing the Directives.
Fresh Thoughts helped the WRc develop the technical report for the Norway River Basin on the topics of water scarcity, exemptions, and measures related to agriculture.
