The Water Framework Directive (WFD) required Member States to develop river basin management plans (RBMPs), along with programmes of measures (PoMs) in order to achieve good status of water bodies. In its second management cycle, the RBMPs and PoMs for Luxembourg needed to be updated for 2015-2021. To this end, the environmental objectives, the monitoring programmes and the analysis of the measures were revised.
Fresh Thoughts supported the Administration de la Gestion de l’Eau (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) in the following areas:
- Support setting up activities under the PoMs.
- Writing texts for the 2nd RBMP.
- Incorporating comments received during public participation in the final version of the management plan.
- Supporting voluntary reporting as part of WISE.
