Magdalena Rogger is an environmental expert who holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering and a PhD in hydrology.
Besides being involved as a hydrological expert in projects such as the India-EU Water Partnership, she is experienced with projects related to the WFD and FD (Water Framework Directive and Flood Directive). Furthermore, she acts as water management expert for the Climate-Adapt Platform that focuses on Climate Change Adaptation in the European Union.
From October 2009 to March 2013, she wrote her PhD within the „Vienna Doctoral Programme on Water Resources Systems“ at the Vienna University of Technology, an interdisciplinary programme aimed at researching complex water resource systems. In her PhD with the title „Extreme flood estimation and runoff process in alpine catchments“, she focused on flood generation and flood risk in alpine areas. The Phd was awarded with the „Dr. Ernst Fehrer Preis“ of the Vienna University of Technology. She has written a number of international publications and was member of the IAHS (International Association of Hydrological Sciences), EGU und AGU .
From 2007 to 2009 she worked for the Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH in the field of International Consulting supporting international consulting projects related to water management, energy and climate. From 2001 to 2006 she studied environmental engineering at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna. During her studies she spent one year abroad at the Uppsala University in Sweden. She is fluent in German, English and Italian.
