Scientific knowledge about the interaction between water, climate change, ecosystems and biodiversity in Doñana, Spain

The Doñana wetland is an emblematic protected area in Spain, with relevance at European and global levels. However, it is facing severe deterioration of its core conservation values due to intensive land use, water overabstraction and climate change. FT compiled and assessed scientific knowledge about the dynamics of climate, water, ecosystems and biodiversity over the past decade and projections for the future to support WWF’s science-based approach in promoting better management practices.
