Review of existing flood management policies and enabling environments, conducting institutional capacity assessment with gap analyses and develop basin FRM polices – Drin

Together with external experts, Fresh Thoughts developed recommendations for the entire Drin catchment area and a training plan based on the legal and policy frameworks and the integrated flood risk management plans.

The aim of the project was to

  • Conduct a review of the legal and policy framework in each of the Drin riparian states in the broader context of mainstreaming aspects relevant to Integrated Flood Risk Management (IFRM) and develop basin-wide policy recommendations and a training programme based on the findings.
  • Conduct an institutional capacity and gap analysis for key IFRM stakeholders in each Drin riparian state and develop corresponding long-term institutional capacity development plans.
