Sabine McCallum is a highly experienced senior policy advisor and climate change expert with over 20 years of experience spanning environment and climate change policymaking, international cooperation, and technical assessment. She brings extensive experience in quality assurance of complex technical deliverables and strategic reviews, financing strategies, and adaptation policy and planning frameworks. Her expertise comprises development, review and evaluation, and quality assurance of adaptation strategies and plans, national and regional climate policies, and tailored climate-resilient planning. At Fresh-Thoughts Consulting, she supports the development and revision of National Adaptation Strategies and capacity-building initiatives that enable effective, evidence-based climate action.

Sabine’s career spans leadership and advisory roles with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the European Commission, the European Environment Agency and regional organizations across Europe, East Africa, South America, and Asia. Her work has focused on climate governance and finance, innovation in Nature-based Solutions including Ecosystem-based Adaptation and climate resilient pathways, contributing to global frameworks such as the UNFCCC’s Global Goal on Adaptation and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
