The PROGRESS project, launched in January 2024, supports Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) in aligning their agricultural sectors with the EU Green Deal and the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C goal. A particular focus lies on climate change adaptation and sustainable horticulture development, including strengthening competitiveness on EU markets.
Funded by Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI), the project is implemented by GIZ together with partners including the OECD and regional institutions. Fresh Thoughts supports PROGRESS as an EU consultant under OECD Output I, which focuses on national policy frameworks for climate adaptation and resilience in agriculture.
In this role, Fresh Thoughts reviews and comments on stocktaking reports on adaptation policy frameworks in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Moldova. By providing EU perspectives and sharing good practices, we contribute to aligning national frameworks with EU standards and climate goals.
