The revision of the Common Agricultural Policy, which started with the Commission’s Communication on “The CAP towards 2020” in November 2010, was finalised with the publication of the corresponding regulations in December 2013. These revisions increased the extent to which water issues can be addressed by MS. Under Pillar II (Rural Development Programmes) there was an opportunity to influence the type and scope of measures to address water issues included in the national and/or regional RDPs for 2014-2020. This project supported DG Environment during the RDP approval process by analysing the draft RDPs concerning water management.
