The project aims to provide concrete policy recommendations on the content of legal instruments at the federal and state levels in Germany. These policy recommendations should enable legislators to mainstream climate change adaptation into further appropriate legal instruments. The project also aims to derive potential federal activities for the Adaptation Action Plan IV (planned for 2024) and the basis for the 2024 Progress Report. The project focuses on the legal instruments that can have a particularly high effectiveness potential in the policy mix for implementing climate change adaptation, i.e. through enforcing the legal instrument.
Fresh Thoughts deals with the following sectoral legislation: water (inland and marine), agriculture and forestry, tourism, finance, fishing and soil and helps to organise stakeholder workshops.
