Mongolia: Improvement of Guideline on River Basin Council establishment

Mongolia: Improvement of Guideline on River Basin Council establishment

Within the frame of its activities in Mongolia “strengthening water governance at river basin level” by facilitating cooperation and building capacities, 2030 WRG aimed to improve and renew the existing guidelines (Order A-124 MET on River Basin Council (RBC) establishment, 2013) and to enable the RBC activity regarding the law and guideline.

The activities performed included coordinating the assessment, stakeholder interviews, organising a workshop, and developing a legal impact assessment. A new Guideline on water governance was approved by the Mongolian Government in March 2018.
