The European Commission DG ENV requested technical and scientific support from the European Drought Observatory (EDO) for Resilience and Adaptation, aiming towards a better understanding of drought impacts and risks in different sectors of society. The purpose was to raise awareness among all water stakeholders regarding the increasing drought risk due to climate change, exchange effective options for dealing with the increased drought risk, and reach a consensus towards a harmonised approach at the European level. Fresh-Thoughts Consulting GmbH conducted an in-depth assessment of existing drought management plans in the EU Member States and developed a report on climate adaptation actions against drought in different sectors.
